WANTED – PARENT PARTICIPATION
SCHOOL PLANNING 2018-2020
All NSW Public Schools are currently undertaking the new planning cycle to develop the School Plan 2018-2020, in line with the Department of Education's Strategic Directions. The School Plan 2018-2020 will be written by Lane Cove West Public School in Term 4.
The aim of the school plan is to:
- Create a collaborative Vision Statement through consultation with students, staff and the wider community that is aligned with the Department of Education's strategic directions;
- Identify 3 key Strategic Directions for the School Plan 2018-2020 developed through the evaluation of what we have been doing and identifying school priorities for the next 3 years in line with the School Excellence Framework Domains: Learning, Teaching and Leading.
As part of this process, we would like to offer parents the opportunity to provide feedback and directions / priorities for the new school plan. This feedback will be collected in two ways:
- A survey will be sent home in the coming weeks for parents unable to attend the Community Forum sessions.
- Two Community Forum sessions are offered for this term and will be led by the school leadership team. In these sessions, parents will have the opportunity to participate in a brainstorming session: Where are we now? Where do we want to be in 2020 in the domains of learning, teaching, leading and wellbeing? Additionally, parent groups will develop Vision Statements that define our school. Session dates and times have been emailed home to parents on Friday 4 August.
